Young blogger, Yahya Gambari was on Tuesday released by Nigerian security agents, following his arrest on Sunday.
Fellow social media personality, Alhaji Shakiru Alimi, popularly known as Okanlomo, who is based in the USA, shared the news via his known Facebook page. “Al Amudulila robilialami, Yahya Gambari have been released. Ojasope. Watch out soon,” Okanlomo wrote.
This newspaper understands that Gambari had been arrested, following a petition by an individual who is based in Osogbo, Osun State. It is not yet clear if it was the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) or Department of State Services (DSS) that arrested Gambari, but it was confirmed that he was seized alongside a close associate, and taken down to Osun State.
Gambari used to be a protégé of diaspora-based Shittu. Shittu has repeatedly denigrated some traditional rulers and many Islamic scholars in Nigeria like Sheik Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory, Shaykh Mohammad Robiu Adebayo, and Sheykh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, describing them as “hypocrites and liars”. Via Save Your Soul TV, Shittu poses a thorn in the flesh of clerics of Ilorin descent.
